E.O. stands for "Executive Order." Each E.O. is assigned a chronological number as it is issued by a president. E.O. 12333, United States Intelligence Activities, was signed by President Ronald Reagan on December 8, 1981. It has been amended three times since then, and the amended version is available in the Intelligence Community Legal Reference Book, just to name one source. The book is available in our collection at KF4850 .A3 2016 on SL3 and on the Office of the Director of National Intelligence's site.

Consult the Law Library's Presidential Documents guide for additional information.
